Clean Sea Pod
Project summary: Imagine a bin, but on the ocean. Our goal is to set a new standard in the recovery and disposal of ghost nets. We want to achieve this goal with a technology that can be implemented easily and on all ocean-going yachts – without burdening the CO2 footprint. This distinguishes this project from all previous attempts. We work together with different universities and research institutions in Canada and the USA.
If we win: the association will have the opportunity to fund current tests even on the largest sea in the world, the Pacific.
Project summary: Our founder, Thomas Logisch, had the intitial idea for enteron®, which he worked out himself until the final solution was ready for the market and serial production. Together with students of the Beuth University of Applied Sciences Berlin, the first prototype was designed, constructed and tested. Today, our company can proudly present a new, fully biological technology that completely purifies wastewater on board a boat and returns it to stagnant and flowing waters. enteron® was completely privately financed and developed by Thomas Logisch. It is the smallest certified wastewater-treatment plant for houseboats, sailing and motor yachts and is also suitable for large caravans or expedition vehicles. Enteron® treats wastewater directly on board. The technology ensures that only clear, clean water is responsibly discharged into the environment. Enteron® is in compliance with the waste-water limits certified by IMO/MARPOL and MEPC.
Project summary: We designed and produced the world’s first fully recyclable and sustainable composite boat in serial production. The IY LBV35 is the first model of our new range of sustainable and fully recyclable, solar &hydrogenator e-powered electric boats. Furthermore, we also guarantee the client to buy back all building materials (volcanic fiber, FSC-balsa & biobased epoxy) in case of damage or the end of the boat’s lifetime, because we do the recycling process inhouse, as a result we offer new materials for the nautical industry or other industries. We have designed the IY LBV35 as the perfect day charter boat: powerful, reliable & for lots of fun! As a special feature this boat has an “Ocean Cleaning system”, which means it can lower the forward trampoline to collect floating garbage while sailing. This feature gives also more safety in man-over-board situations. With our partner La Bella Verde we offer also the possibility of Franchise with Online Booking System for our client’s charter bus.
If we win: we can continue our development to recycle as much as possible garbage/leftovers into new building materials, which we started already.
Project summary: Save Nemo develloped the first open source underwater weather station which collects oceans pollution (various chemical and physical) parameters and analyse them at our cloud. Data will be publically available. We combind this smart hard- and software with moorings which stops wild ancoring in reefs.
Why: Tourism and all onshore connected industries (Hotels, Food, Transport) provoke an abnormal rise in water pollution caused by anchoring and mass tourism side-effects. With our smart moorings we can monitor and stop this.
If we win: Price money will be given to 100% to our non profit charity Save.Nemo e.V.
Project summary: It is a technology-based startup that has developed an Earth Observation platform to automatically discover pollution in the air and water bodies anywhere in the world by applying proprietary Machine Learning algorithms on multispectral and hyperspectral images coming from different sources such as satellites, drones, airplanes and cameras. The company was founded with the goal of using the latest technological and satellite capabilities and machine learning to create technology that helps clean up and conserve the planet. The team consists of 6 executives with +20 years of experience each in their sector and diverse profiles in different areas of the company with over 100 years of combined experience in the creation and use of Machine Learning algorithms, development of space projects, experience in R&D, Business Development and Marketing. It has agreements with several partners worldwide, among which we can highlight: Philippe Cousteau Foundation, INVEMAR, Ecomar Foundation and other.
If we win: we will use the award in the development and calibration of new algorithms to aid global monitoring and conservation of the oceans.
